Very weird hard drive prices @ dell accessories site

Thread Starter
The M1710 I ordered has a 60gb hard drive. I figure I would upgrade that in the future and I was just browsing at the dell accessories page. Is it just me or are the prices very unusual? i.e. a 60GB 7200 RPM HD is $251.95. The 80GB 7200 RPM HD is $123.30.

go to newegg and buy a drive for MUCH cheaper. sometimes dell's site has mistakes on it. look into it and if it is a mistake and you are getting a great deal, then jump on it.

seems like a good price, but it's not exactly super cheap

Be sure to buy the correct format. IDE and SATA are not interchangeable.

How odd. This brings memories of the Dell mistake in which 250GB HDDs were being advertised for AU$8.80 last year August.

Dell uses Toshiba, Hitachi, WesternDigital as there primary HDD suppliers. If its a SATA drive its more than likely to be a Hitachi.
