Hello to all,
My first post here!
I wanted to tell everyone about my brand new order.
But first I want to "THANK YOU ALL"
!!!
I ran across this forum several weeks ago and used it extensivly in concluding the purchase that I made.
Reading in the DELL part of this site I beleive helped me and I again want to thank everyone here that posts about pros and cons different types of configurations, the problems their having, when new hardware is coming out, especially the Core 2 Duo for the E1505s.

You can't beleive the laughs I got when I was at the local DELL kiosk and I knew about the Core 2 Duos launch and they DIDN"T.....heh heh heh ...and it was because I learned about it here....kudos to you guys, ......
(& gals)..<grins>
Anyway I ordered last night.
Ship date 9/14
Thanks for all the help from everyone. I just registered so that I could now paticipate and most of all thank you!

OK Brain freeze what are you referring to with the X1400? please tell... fathergoose OK got it the vid card... Why is it you would go for the ATI over the GeForce not that I am saying I know simply that I did do quite a bit of wringing of my hands on that selection.... In the end I went with it but I REALLY would still like some ideas here...so go ahead and shoot.... fathergoose

try to get the price knocked down a bit...

no need to pay that much for non gamer laptop.
should wait couple weeks and you can get it with almost as good specs for about a grand with a good coupon. And anyways with santa rosa platform coming out in q2 2007 one would want to upgrade again anyways. Save money now and buy fully loaded than. That new platform will be able to really use the potential of core 2 duo.

look at the asus w3j...

Something new and better is always going to be coming out, you can't wait for the next big thing or else you'll never get anything.

There are some posts on this forum saying the 3D benchmark of 1400x surpasses the 1300x and the Geforce card. Only downside is less updates.

Thanks for the post...I am like some others and wish they had some better Vcards with these so called Non gaming laptops....I may change the card in the order, seems the best choice after all. fathergoose

She wanted nothing less than what she has now which is the I8000 and 15 inch screen so that leaves the W3J out although I like the looks of the ASUS laptops. fathergoose

That is a very expensive setup.. I got my E1505 for about 1100 and it's somewhat like yours.
Check out what I got in sig -- I paid identical to what you paid (1555 us dollars)... and I ordered from the Canadian Dell which generally costs more.

Nice laptop. Hope you enjoy it. I just purchased a E1505 from the Dell outlet. So far it is a good computer. But then again so is my 8600. Still can't believe I actually purchased a new computer.
wow, you got a really bad deal. I got an e1705 with all the specs in my sig for $1770-$150 rebate.
