Some will say it doesn't slow anything down but I have seen more than one system that makes a world of difference just by setting everything to classic (best performance). That said I have played with some theme progs and what not but they usually don't stick for long.

One thing I can't live without though is multiple virtual desktops and not M$'s VDM that is just a POS, I have something I've been using for a couple years that works!
Which one is that?

Program called Virtual Dimension, I got fed up with MSVDM and found this prog through source forge. It hasn't been updated a whole lot but I haven't really had problems with it so maybe its just not needed (knock on wood). I don't use any of the extra things you can do with it like make transparent windows and I keep all the OSD things turned off so there's no desktop gunk. Just the system tray icon and me happily using my key combo to switch between desktops all day at work I use the windows key and then 1-4. Generally have 4 desktops going at work: open desktop, IM desktop, Firefox desktop, and then email. I love open spaces and UN-cluttered task bars!

But I've been tyring the "vista inspirat" pack from this site http://www.crystalxp.net/bricopack/en.htm
It's amazing and simple to install and uninstall.

Is there any significant performance reduction using this?
