I have been reading tons of threads on this forum. Thanks to everyone that posts here, your information has been really helpful.
I’ve just ordered the Dell XPS M1710 with the following configuration:
XPS M1710 Metallic Black, Intel® Core™ 2 Duo (Meron) Processor T7400 (2.16GHz/667MHz/4MB), Genuine Windows® XP Professional, 17 inch UltraSharp™ Wide Screen UXGA Display with TrueLife, Memory: 2GB 677MHz 2 DIMM, 512MB NVIDIA® GeForce™ Go 7900 GTX, 100GB 7200rpm SATA Hard Drive, Integrated 10/100/1000 Network Card and Modem, 8X CD/DVD Burner (DVD+/-RW) with double-layer DVD+R write capability, Intel PRO/Wireless 3945 802.11a/g Mini Card (54Mbps), XPS Notebook Backpack.
The system price came to $3,189.00 + $191.64 for tax + Disposal Fee $5 = Total Price $3,385.64 CDN ($ 3,050.40 USD).
After “building” my system online I call Dell to try to get a better deal but they said that they were already giving free memory upgrade so I could only get the 3 Yr Return to Depot Service with 3 Yr Tech Support extended warranty for free.
I would like to get at least $ 200 off but the memory upgrade special is only good until August 31, 2006, so I was a bit worried if didn’t get the lappy by tomorrow.
So what you guys think about the price I paid for the XPS M1710?
Is it a good deal my XPS M1710 config for that price?
When I checked the same XPS M1710 config in the Dell USA it will cost about $ 3,850.00 USD.
What I'm asking is wether or not I've paid a reasonable price for a "gaming" system comparing it to others system with "SIMILAR" config.
Particularly i would like know the price people have paid for the XPS if anyone here has recently bought the XPS with the Core 2 Duo.
Thanks
