Alienware mALX Processor

I was wondering, will the Alienware mALX ever get a Duo Core processor?

I'm going to get a mALX but I think it's stupid to get it now if the Duo Core processors are just around the corner. But that's a big IF I guess :-/

Yeah, sorry can't help you there. I've been wondering the exact same thing. How is it most 19" laptops have AMD turions and the ones that are not so hi end have core 2 duos?

Until intel mobile processors support SLI you won't be seeing them in any SLI notebooks. I just read a couple articles though that said they'll be incorporating it in the near future. It'll take a while for people to develop platforms for it though...

As for the mALX, clevo has released a base platform that has the turion X2 in it. This is the dual core version of the turion. I don't know if Alienware will be converting to that model for the mALX or when if they will, but that's probably a better bet for the near future.

Ah, thank you that's helpful...although I don't know who clevo is.

EDIT: Ok, I do now (http://www.clevo.com.tw) At least I guess it's that.

Wow, Hammer. congrats!
You got through that whole post without the obligitory Hammerhead lecture/speil about "most games not supporting dual-core yet".
I swear, you're like a broken record with that!

Cheers

Alienware sells laptops from several base platform constructors. Clevo, Uniwill and Arima are a few...

Someday AW might be big enough to design their own stuff from the ground up, but not yet...

Well, until the truth changes, I'll continue to be consistent...
