The HP site says discrete memory, so I am assuming all 512MB is going to be dedicated, not shared. But you can’t be certain since the dv9000z was supposed to be shipping with DVI but didn’t. I ordered mine yesterday and when it gets here I’ll post what I find out, but it’s not supposed to ship until 9/8 so the wait could be awhile.

Oh mighty wearenotalone I am so sorry. I didn't know it was never stated that the dv9000z would ship with the HDMI port. I just assumed it was stated since I read about 30 posts saying that it was going to have it.

Yep... posts saying they had been told by a clueless salespersons that all the dv9000z's were shipping with HDMI ports.

Addtionally the dv9000z page mentioned nothing about the HDMI port in the "spec" section... Only a mention of the port in the dv9000 series flash demo showing the port, saying "(HDMI Port) select models".

HDMI port is a big step up, if it was a option, or was standard it would have clearly been advertised as such.

Personally I wish ALL the new units were shipping with it as it would help to bring the cost down...

What more do you want, I apologized and subjugated myself to your ever so vast knowledge about everything HP, was it really necessary to further assert your limitless knowledge of the HP website?

ok just to advise you all the 7600 uses 512mb/256mb of dedicated GDDR memory depending on which one you got, now with the card it also utilizes up to an addition 512mb of system ram if available. so essentially if you got enough memory your card can utilize almost a gig of video memory . oh and it is upgradabel.... just not sure whether or not it is MXM....
