Well, it depends what you will be using it for. The m9700 with the SLi is for gaming, while the m5750 will be perfectly fine for most everything else. But im no expert, let the others come in and answer more specificly.

For hardcore gaming, I prefer the m9700. The m5750 has the Duo Core which is great for multi-threading. Gaming isn't benefitting from multi-threading yet. That's still a year or two away. The m9700 has the Turion which is aimed at gaming and it also has the Dual NVidia 7900 GSs. That processor with the dual video cards was made for hardcore gaming.
The first thing I did when I got my 9700 was to load up FEAR. It runs like a dream.

Could I get a good config for $2500+shiping?
I just went onto the AW website and set one up with a 2.0 GHz Turion, XP Home edition, Dual 9700s, WideXGA screen, 1 GB Ram, 60 GB HD, and 8x DVD drive. The whole deal says $2376.00 + shipping.
That would be one very competent gaming rig. I think it would treat you very well.

if your getting 2 gig RAM from newegg you can configure it with 512 MB instead of 1 GB and save some money, then you could up the hard drive size and the processor to 2.2GHz maybe.

.... oh and yeah.... go for the m9700 if your a hardcore gamer, the m5750 is more for everyday stuff/casual gaming.

I dunno, the m5750 just released the Conroe platform CPU's, does anyone know how this fairs up against the m9700? I know for a fact that CPU is definately supperior.

m9700 would mostly be better for gaming, however, Conroe is a definate winner for those that are going to do a lot of 3D rendering (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc). It is also great for video and mp3 decoding/encoding. Don't get me wrong. A maxed out 5750 will still eat up games like it's nothing. However certain games might play better at a slightly smaller resolutions. I hope this helps.
