I had that problem with my desktop while playing PlanetSide. The way I solve the problem is by tuning down the clocks of your graphic card. That problem only occured when OCing too high and causing the video card to be unstable. Good luck!!!

Its caused by WoW experimenting with Bards, and your seeing the warp speed streaks from a bard screaming thru, lol.

You video card (specifically the core, not the mem) is overheating. Run it at default speeds if its overclocked. If its not, then check to make sure the GPU fan is working and that hot air is being blown out the back. Its possible the fins are clogged with dust and not able to properly cool.

If those aren't the problems, then its possible the GPU itself is defective or damaged. Has this always happened, or only recently? Does it do it in other games too, or only WoW?

Before you do that, try deleting the WTF and WDB folders. Start the game, you'll have to redo your settings. See if that fixes the problem. Also, check to see if any other game does this (run 3dmark?). If its limited only to WoW, it might be only a WoW issue, and not a hardware one.

nope that didnt do anything, if something appears messed up, and i restart the game, that thing isnt messed up anymore, however other things are, its not an over heating issue, cuz i just turned on my computer.

I work for blizzard, and am curently working on Northerend (An expansion), and don't work with bugs and glitches. Many people on the blizzard help server have reported this problem. The blizzard tech support is an easy way to get the problem solved, just fill it out and within a few days you'll have a proffesional answer. The screenshot helps too. You are running the laptop with an always on Power Setting and getting those spikes when you are running on Battry power I would surmise.

Same thing happens on my Gateway 7405gx (64MB Radeon Mobility 9600). If I run on battery the display freaks out.

I used to get this on my 8200 back in the day. All it took for me was a driver change.

Im going to have to concur that this is likely due to heat issues. Its a common problem on the older notebooks using 6800U or 7800GTX somewhere down the line the card starts to exhibit problems that normally only occur if you OC the card. The easiest thing you can do without having to rip open the computer is to blow compressed Air into the right and left vents to unclog it a bit. You can monitor the progress and difference by installing Fangui8k (www.diefer.de) once youve done that you should be all go regarding clogged fans. If the problem persists you may also want to try a different set of drivers such as the recent 15x.xx Nvidia drivers. Finally if the problem still exists your card may have finally clocked out if your under warranty then Dell will replace the card. If your not under warranty you can purchase the card thru dell for roughly 300-400 dollars.

that would be correct, my done that before the graphic card went bad, if you have dell notebook, you should run a test for video at a bios level with custom test for video card only...if it bad it will give you some code, give that to Dell

that not an issue he is having, either the graphic card on it way out or the heat pipe clogs up.... you only delete WTF folder when lag appear,, in this case it is a graphic memory not draw the picture correctly.....
