Welcome to the forum AsianOne. I too am relatively new to the forum and the guys here are very helpful. They helped me land a great deal on my M90 (first lappy 4 me).

I really like the config you have on you comp, but if you intend to game you should upgrade to 2 GB ram. You can do this either through Dell or a 3rd part vendor (which ever is cheaper).

Post some Pictures if you can, would love to see that Carbon Fiber Cover.

I second that Logan. Newegg is pretty cheap for ram

yeah thanks for the comments. I'm pretty sure i'm gonna order another gig of ram for my laptop. Since i'm new to dell notebooks, can the E1705 exceed the 2 gig limit?

i am not 100% sure but i think it is limited to 2 GB, also you should check to see if you have 1x 1 GB stick or 2 x 512 MB sticks. If you have the 2 x 512MB you will have to buy 2 x 1GB sticks.

limited to 2GB and there isn't a reason to go higher with Windows XP, I can't speak for Vista as it isn't out. Currently Windows XP is pretty lousy at managing beyond 2GB of RAM so you won't notice much of a difference. Not to mention there are very few applications that require more than 2GB, even the terribly coded Battlefield 2 runs on 2GB

wait until vista and get 4 gigs which is the max. You will be better with memron n Vista
