Portege r205: Keyboard Issues

Hi there,

I have just bought a Toshiba Portege r205-s2069. So far it is an awsome little machine, but there are some issues it noticed with the keyboard.

1. The keyboard is not firm throughout but slightly bends inwards on the left side when I push the tab, capslock, shift, a or control key.

2. The typing quality of the keys differs quite a lot. Some keys give a good and silent typing impression, while others are quite noisy and give the impression of being slightly lose, as if they might get lose soone or later a year. Eg when I press O or X it sometime feel as if pressing the key would give the key the last push into its holding mechanism.

Now are these minor issues normal for the portege r205 or should I try to get a replacement from Toshiba? What experiences have other users in this forum with a portege keyboard?

Thanks,

simon.

laptop kboards are not so different from one model to another. in some laptop, u might see a "bulge" to the left or right side. some keys would feel soft and hard when being pressed. it depends on the support layer underneath the kboard
i would keep aneye and if it is not to ur liking, submit a complaint to the manufacturer, or best yet, take ur laptop to a store and compare it with the exact floor model

cheers ...
