The vista VS. QP 2.0, internal battle - Page 2

First thing they will probably say is you're using a un-supported OS...

At that point you might point out to them that your machine has stickers? on it that say Vista Compatible?

Second thing (and what I was refering to above) was they will tell you to run a "restore", run the recovery program, either from the hard disc itself, or from the "user" created "recovery disc(s).. that's the standard solution for everything it seems. (can't blame them really)

I told them that I had created the "restore" disc(s) before I deleted the "recovery partition, and that one of the discs had a read error on it, would not work....

You "may" be able to go here to find the PART number of the disc(s) you're needing so you'll have them in front of you to confirm you're going to be sent the right discs.

PS: dv5137ea = dv5000t.... Additionally I posted the part number for QuickPlay install disc several times within the Quickplay thread.

Ill ask HP to ship me a QP2.0 disk.. I gues thay will be a bit easeyer to dea; with than when you are trying to make em send you the freaking OS disks.. haha
Just for the record, I can pretty much assure you that any CD that HP ships will give you the exact same error. Those who uploaded these CD images for us did an excellent job.

Which error are you getting?

1: Please when talking about ERROR codes POST the ERROR code, the text of... instead of doing a "screen shot".

OR

2: Post both the image AND the text of the error code.

http://img104.imageshack.us/my.php?i...sc00287me7.jpg

Box in background saying: Installing QuickPlay Direct 2.1
Box in forground saying:

ComponentMoveData Error Information

ComponentMoveData had the following error:

Component: Quick Play Component
File Group:
File:
Error Number: -2147418113

WHY? ... 6 months from now someone (such as yourself) may be searching for a "fix".... and the "image" is more than likely NOT going to still be "hosted"...

Hate when when I run across some good info, people don't post the "error" code in this case.... and the image is "gone".

There was another poster a while back who did the same thing... posting a screenshot of a error code... but never posted the "code" itself in any of his posts.... and a short time after he "got"... "his" answer to "his" problem the image was DELETED....

It would be sort of like someone posting a "image" of the HP QuickPlay 2.0 install disc showing the part number... but no-one posted the part number.... and then the image was deleted.
