Asus m68xxne + Ubuntu Dapper Card Reader Issue

Thread Starter
Hi,

I have dapper on my lappy and it works great, except the built in ricoh media card reader. I can't even find it in device manager. Can anyone help me with bringing this reader to life? (it works well under xp.. just to be sure, that its not dead)

Thanks

don't count on it is my only advice. card reader support is VERY VERY limited under linux, my card reader (O2Micro) doesn't work either and i just made peace with it.

As abf says card readers are pretty badly supported in Linux due to nasty nasty hardware developers not publishing specs.

If you're lucky the sdhci driver will work http://mmc.drzeus.cx/wiki/Linux/Drivers/sdhci otherwise you're stuffed . I think it's in recent kernels but older ones will need patching http://thinkwiki.org/wiki/How_to_get...D-CARD_working.
