Ferrari 4005 heat issue

Thread Starter
Hello, I got a Ferrari 4005 and the temperature of this cpu is getting to about 60 degree C. I want to clean the cpu heatsink and put some new thermal paste on the heatsink. I've tried taking all the screws off the bottom of the laptop but I still can't split the case. Can someone help guide me and give me some pointers. Thanks

Can you search and find ferrari service manual? If you cannot find it pm me and i'll send it to u. It contains info and pics for taking it all apart

Really? What is the max temperature of this cpu?
did you try something simple like blowing out the vents with compressed air.

i do it with my lappy every week.....freaking cat hair!

The max temperature of this cpu is 97*C.

My ferrari processor temp is 43*C at the moment.

When I am playing games like bf2 or counter strike source it goes up to 75-80. This processor can take a lot.

Finally got the time to take the laptop apart and applied the OCZ Silver on and the temperature is now 44C at idle. Big improvement!

Reduce the heat!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah its was one of the things i noticed when it melted a bar of choclate i lay next to the vent, LOL within working specs acording to AMD BUT we all know less heat = longer opertating parts and a more stable system............

Dl RMclock and reduce your cpu voltage testing using prime or game the hell out of it to test for stability as you go......I have reduced my vcore to 1.20v stable from i think 1.425 i think it was default. What a difference....Idle used to be about 50C and full load it could hit 70C when gaming.......After Rmclock and 1.20v its now sits at around 37c idle and about 57c full load gaming for hours, all in all i am very happy with the decrease in temps for such a simple mod...

Thanks! And thats your only setting? You run the book at 1600MHz? Isn“t it better to run it on the low frequency? 800 MHz with 0,9V?

A question to the Icons: If I run the Tool the Display-Settings looks terrible!
I dont run off the battery or if very seldom, so no i havent set it to run battery settings. I dont know what you mean by the settings in display, but yes your icons look like they are running a higher display than mine, mines is 1280x800 by default. Hmm gaming and such at 800mhz is not really recommended, not on the likes of HL2 BF2 Q4 etc, the faster the Mhz the better, same with the fsb.

I see you have the 4002! I have the 4005 (other Display!). But 800MHz are normal! It changed his frequency at his own! If the lappi has an high cpu-load it goes up to 2,0 GHz, if the cpu-load ist low, it goes down to 800MHz!

Yeah that is why i updated my sig to reference i run the 4200 so there is no mistake . I realise you have a different display, but you could maybe try a diff res for the icon thing......
The freq changes the same on mine, 800mhz when running on battery, i have formatted my lappy so i dont run all the Acer crap, and by that i mean the e power management utility, i use Notebook Hardware Control and this gives a similar option you, i think are refering to called Dynamic Switching which will flick between 800Mhz and 1600Mhz depending on CPU load......I dont run this either as i prefer to run at full load 1600Mhz default on mine, its just my preference is all , overkill i know when just surfing etc, but better for gaming.
