How do I get WPA-PSK2 ?

Thread Starter
I have an Acer Aspire 5002 Notebook with built in internal Wireless - I have issues with it:
Broadcom 802.11g Network Adapter
Driver Date: 12/22/2004
Driver Ver: 3.100.46.0 built by WinDDK
c:\\WINDOWS\sysem32\DRIVERS\BCMWL5.SYS

I go to Device Manager, Adapter Properties, Advanced.
There are 23 properties.
The device is working properly, no conflicts.
But, I cannot get connected to WPA-PSK2 (not at all!!)

QUESTION: What turns on the WPA-PSK2?
(I can only connect to WPA-PSK!)
There is no selection for WPA-PSK2 in Windows XP "Wireless Network Connection Properties." What is the problem here?? Why is it notavailable?
I use Windows XP Home Edition on my laptop.

Is this a Broadcom driver issue?
Is this a limitation on my Internal adapter hardware by Broadcom?
Does the Internal Broadcom adapter hardware need a firmware update?
Is this something wrong in WindowsXP Home Edition & I need a work-around? What is it?
(I can select Open, Shared, WPA, and WPA-PSK only).
Is the Internal Broadcom adapter broken? What turns on WPA-PAK2??

How to? How to?

Thank you

Check this http://www.microsoft.com/technet/com...uy/cg0505.mspx out if you have not yet. Pay attention to 'Changes to wireless network adapters' section. I do not think that your Broadcom card has enough computational facilities for on the fly AES encryption. In any case, you'll need to get the latest driver for the Broadcom card and see if it supports WPA2.

Does your router support WPA2-PSK or are you trying to create ad-hoc network?
