As many people have stated before in this (and other) forums, I wish they would update the order status a little more frequently. Every five minutes might be a good starting point, maybe a slider so you can set it even lower?? To much?

I'm sure that I will get questions on the configuration, so I'll answer the obvious ones here:
Memory: I ordered a single DIMM because I already have a matching one (crossing fingers) here at the office, no point in letting the extra DIMM go to waste.
Hard Drive: All that money and only an 80 GB drive?? In short, I don't need the space. I have 1.8 TB in storage (two servers) here at the house and I am planning on ordering a SATA PCMCIA card and external eSATA 400GB drive to keep at the office for additional storage.

Well, off to bed. Thank you all for the great forum and convincing me to go with HyperSonic(was looking at the same system at AW for $5500).

P.S. Ratmyr, hope you don't mind, but I copied your sig /w slight modifications to the mighty benevolent Ratmyr Overlord!

Sweet.

My CX7 might is due to ship today. Of course, the online status is only at "kitting & assignment", but as of a call to them last Friday, it should be shipped today.

They either need to update the status online properly, or quit offering that feature.

I expect when the 1.8 TB storage fills up, you'll be wishing you got the 100GB hard drive!

Congrats.. You lucky bastard :P

What do you mean when?? It's almost full now! I have two new drives that are waiting to be installed (just need the time), one 250 and one 320. That should bring me up to 2.33 TB... just shy of the 2.5 mark, oh well.

My first Mitac notebook had an 80 MB hard drive and everone was amazed because it was so much bigger than the the PC we were using to run our retail business!

I'll be dating my self, but I remember drooling over the 5MB hard drives for my C64... $800 each (If I remember correctly).

P.S. Ahhhh, one-upmanship... but its better then a flame war

Oh yeah? My first system was a radio shack circuit board and was connected to my friend's board with a can and string.

Oh ya, well my first computer was a ...... never mind, I know when I have been beat.

P.S. to Echo Pat, that was a good one :P

You had a hard drive for your C64? I had a floppy drive. Trying to remember, but it was like a 1540 drive or something like that.

Must be nice to be rich and everything with a hard drive.

I said drooling, not owning. I was only 8 at the time and there was no way my parents could even aford to by me the C64. I got it as a birthday present from my Grandma Ya Grandma!!

Update

Woot! Step 7: Embellishment....

Great and mighty Hypersonic , I need my fix, pretty please
post #13 of 19
That embellishment might take a while if they run out of the right color spray paint and have to go back to Wal-Mart for some more.

LOL, I know, but they have told me three times now (over the last three and a half weeks) that it was already sent to the painters. So as long as the closest Wally World is less then 2 weeks away , they should have been able to get the paint and come back.
