Does anyone know about upgradability of an Acer?

Hello All,
I'll only offer a short preamble so as to get into the nuts of bolts of my question. I currently have a 17" Dell i9300 with all the frills. I'm very happy with it and hope to get a lot more use in the coming years; however, I would like to have a larger screen and more powerful processor. I have stumbled upon the Acer 9805 and was impressed with the screen, keypad, processor, and most everything else. Then I noticed that they only offer the Nvidia 7300go and 7600go. This would be a substantial loss in graphic performance from my current 7800gtx. So here is my question: does Acer allow you to upgrade graphics cards, or is there a third party provider from which a better graphics card could be purchased?

Thanks for any information you may be able to offer.

with very few exceptions to laptops, most gpu can not be easily upgraded after the system being bought/delivered
if the acer interests u, u mihgt want to talk to the sales rep about the possibilty of delivering the system with the gpu of ur choice. the laptop is expensive enough for them to go an extra step to satisfy ur need

cheers ...

As qhn said above, in 99,9% of cases you can NOT change your graphics chip.
The only upgrades you can do are:
- the CPU
- the amount of RAM
- the HDD
And that's about it.

Thanks for the replies Gents:
You are both right. I sent Acer America an email asking whether or not a better graphics card could be purchased and installed with the system and they said "no, not at present." Oh well, it really is a shame that a system as nice as the 9805 is limited with the 7600go.

I suppose I will just wait until the core duo 2 and the nvidia quadro 2500 make it into some other 19"+ notebook- and is reasonably priced.

Thanks again!
