Ok. So when i put the headphonein the headphone jack sound comes from both the headphone and the speakers but i want the sound to come only from the headphone,,,,,,,,how????????

I would look for a control for the headphones and for the speaker volume seperately. Otherwise, it looks like the wrong jack was installed in the notebook. Most computers have a shut-off jack for the speakers.

Mine works fine. You are plugging it into the center hole right?

I bought it at john lewis in UK
so went to visit them with lappy, showed them, and they agreed it is faulty
(under warranty, plus under their 28 days return policy)
so I have to clone the HD, wipe it out, and they give me a new one.
I tried 2 models on display, and they didn't have the problem

Hope that help other people

I had the exact same problem,
You see, in the old days, the when you plug in a headphone, the jack would automatically disable the speaker; it was a mechanical thing, a good thing. Well that’s no more…

In the new HPs and Compaq’s, they do it in the software, so if your drivers aren't installed properly this is the effect you get, install the drivers and you should be fine!!! I think they did it like this, so they could pull off the touch sensitive clicking noise from the speakers when you use the buttons. Which I found would be better if that would be re-routed to the headphones as swell. But again what do I know!

Did you try setting the headphones for the default output in the control panel ? Just a thought. Good Luck
