Exact same thing here. I ordered 2 GB's of OCZ from Newegg and got the free upgrade to 1 GB. Oh well, I guess the daughter gets an extra 512 in her new laptop (my old one)

i just got an email today saying i got the upgrade from 512 to 1gig that is too awesome but did anyone els get this email that hit phase 10 on saturday
i just thought it was weird they dint tell me during production but after it shipped

I did as well ... I wanted to upgrade to 2GB anyway!!! Maybe I'm gonna wait with upgrade for running Vista.

I got the email too! Still in phase 8 when I called them today.

Scenario:
"I call AW today since last Wednesday I was promised that it would be shipped out today. Friday rolls around and it hits phase 8. The girl that I talked to on Wednesday said that it would definately go out on Monday, and if not, for me to call and they would work something out and get me upgraded free of charge. I end up calling today and talk to some guy who says 'we dont do upgrades unless you are 2-3 weeks delayed and even then, we will put it back in like phase 3.' I was like.....uh you guys promised me an upgrade and he was just going on and on about estimated ship date. So I get this email now and wonder what's going on? "

Anyone know if this is 1 stick of 1gb they put in there?

Well email said that 512 was backordered so they wanted to expedite it asap. Maybe they just threw 1 stick in there for everyone?

Woot!!!

Finally!!! FedEx finally picked up my order from Alienware @ 8:30PM!!!! Sheesh....talk about waiting till the last minute!! I figure I should have it no later than this weekend!! WOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
