DV1000 / DV1660SE hanging after login

Hi All...

Got an issue that I'm hoping the experts on here can answer...

My DV1660se is a wonderful machine and works just great for work/play, but I've noticed that if I have Microsoft Fax installed, I get this issue..

a) Boot the computer

b) Enter my password at the Welcome screen, and it says "Loading personal settings.." << It'll hang at this screen 1 out of every 3 times I boot up Windows.

Here's a configuration I've found that works and where I have the problem..

Fax Service Installed + Wireless ON = Hangs at "Loading Personal Settings"
Fax Service Installed + Wireless OFF = No problem

Fax Service Uninstalled + Wireless ON = No problem
Fax Service Uninstalled + Wireless OFF = No problem

Has *anyone* had any issue or issues similar to this? I've tried Googling but found many oh many issues like this.

I've done a destructive, full recovery (essentially wiped my hard drive) and imaged it back to the way the computer was when I got it.

The only software I run is...

-- TrendMicro PCcillin
-- Microsoft Office 2003 Student/Teacher Ed.

This issue only seemed to creep up when I started to try and use the Fax service; otherwise, I've not had a single problem w/ the laptop. I love the battery life...

I really appreciate any insight anyone can provide.

You tried hunting around on MicroSoft's site for issues? Maybe there is a setting within Microsoft Fax to make it delay "hunting" for the network or something?

Another idea: Try another Fax program.

Actually, I wasn't able to find anything on Microsoft's site pertaining to this issue... or anything like it actually. :-( Microsoft Fax seems to work fine on my tower, but I'm wondering if it's a hangup between the Conexand HD Audio/Modem and/or the Intel Pro Wireless 3945ABG.. Everything else seems to be working fine, so in the meantime I've disabled Microsoft Fax...

I don't know if this helps, but I also looked in Event Viewer under System, and found the following errors in the order listed...(*see below*) I've already done a complete, destructive recovery. My OS is fresh as of last Sunday and only running PCCillin and Office 2003.

Here is a complete copy of my System log (in Event Viewer) of all the "Errors" that came up in the order they happened (top to bottom).

I would assume you've 'd for the DHCPNACK message?

Where did you install the Fax program from, XP CD or from Office?

All the errors really say is that you probably last used the machine at work, so it tried to get a 10.x address and failed. Next, the wireless configuration services hung so loong that it kicked out more errors - most everything else looks like noise from these. Finally, you tried to get a home IP address from the 198.x range and again failed - Wireless config had already hung, so no chance of this working.
