Thread Starter
Just got it out of the box (Acer Aspire 5672), and turned it on the first time, and it comes up with the following message during it's bootup, and won't continue:

Broadcom UNDI PXE-2.1 v8.2.6
Copyright (C) 2000-2005 Broadcom Corporation
Copyright (C) 1997-2000 Intel Corporation
All rights reserved.
PXE-E61: Media Test failure, check cable
PXE-M0F: Exiting Broadcom PXE ROM.
Operating System not found

Please someone help!

You sure there's no solution for this problem?
I really don't want to return it coz then this would be the 4th time I would return an Acer notebook for a replacement (all others before it had problems, either from the start, or within the first few days).

some guy just has all the lucks, i definitively would ask for another support centre the message u have is simple in its term that: 1. someone forgot to connect the hardware 2. bios is taking a shot 3. hard drive is empty just for kick, can u boot up with a windows cd? may be it would react differently cheers ...

Check in the BIOS and see what is set as the BOOT device. It may be possible that the current setting is something like "Boot from Network Device".
Change to Boot from HDD.

I know this is an old post but it might help someone out later. This drove me crazy for about a week as the netbook wouldn't boot from the Windows drive. There's a bug in the bios. If you have the splash screen set to off, the boot up drive settings and other settings will not be saved. When changing and saving bios settings, make sure the splash screen (acer startup screen) is set to on. You can turn it off after the settings have been changed and saved. This worked for me and I had the same error shown above.
