Someone needs too email or call up Dell(Not the stupid sellers) and ask about who makes there Laptops.

Theres no way a company that big will make there own chassis for a laptop system just for the heck of it.

It's my understanding thay they co-desing them with the company that will supply them. They are made according to Dell's specification. There is no reason for them to invest in that kind of infrastructure. But the last sentence in your post leaves me wondering what you mean....I think there is alot more chance a big company would make their own chassi because the investment is more worthwhile.

I have an old, and tired Compaq Armada e500 with two batteries installed, and the best I can get is about 2-1/2hrs. So I'm going to put one the plus side for the Dell Inspiron e1405
thank you for posting that link (even though it was a long time ago). 8 hours of battery life is awesome! i think my mind is pretty much made up on a refurb e1405 for college next year on a sidenote: awww patrick norton. i've been watching the screensavers (from techtv) on youtube lately and its good to know hes still doing tech stuff =) him, kevin rose, leo laporte, sarah lane, dan huard, and yoshi were all awesome on that show...
