Who cares if I get the duo core 2 version if i have the same random shut down issues lol. Keep us posted guys and hopefully AW does the right thing.
|I started an account here to help with the random shutdown problem. I was about to follow the advice of another and install NHC (notebook hardware control). I went to the website and downloaded it and I read there that I had to have the latest .Net framework 2.0 installed first. So I went ahead and windows updated myself to .Net 2.0. As soon as it was installed my fan inside kicked in to full speed! It stayed on for about 10-20 seconds and then went to a lower state and idled. So far the fan seems to come on more often when the computer heats up and idles down once it has cooled enough.
I have still not installed NHC itself, just the .Net 2.0. I think since NHC seems to need it perhaps Windows XP itself operated the fans differently using .Net 2.0 and since I have installed that my computer has not randomly shutdown.
Might be a clue to the issue, might not. But I do believe the random shutdown was a software bug and not hardware related. I will continue to report on the issue but for now .Net framework 2.0 seems to have fixed the fan control and the shutdowns.
