Hard drive problems?

Thread Starter
ive been having problems recently on my 9750 involving the hard drive. The error viewer under administrative tools says

The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk1\D.
The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk2\D.
The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk3\D.
The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk4\D.

after this happens the usb mouse fails and a couple hours later i get the bsod, reboot then everythings fine again for a few days then this happens again.

The microsoft support center says this is caused by a failing connecter.

Any one know why this is happening or how to fix it? Ive only had this computer for about 6 months.

Try reseating the cable. If that doesn't work try an RMA.

Drives, speed & heat

What kind of drives do you use ? 5400rpm or 7200rpms ? One or two drives ?
I've had to scale down from two 7200rpm to 5400rpm disks, due to the heat.
