Where did my resolution go?

Hello, I am desperate and looking for help; I was trying the extended desktop feature of my acer notebook (model 1652WLMi, graphics card Ati Mobility Radeon X300 64mb Pci Express).After trying this, I realized that the display resolution that I was previously using wasnt there anymore. The screen is 15.4 inches and I set the resolution at 1280x1024 but now I can only get 1280x800.I have tried with the reinstalling of Windows from scratch but still the same problem. This is a real pain in the ass because now the resolution in most of the games is now 1024x768 (which is not good at all).
I have tried installing different drivers for my graphic card (Omega)but I cant raise the resolution beyond 1280x800.

Does anyone know how to force my native resolution?Any tweak?

i can only suggest that u perform a clean un.install/re.install of ur gpu driver
u can try 1st the gpu driver delivered with ur system, if not try the DHMod3 at http://www.driverheaven.net/patje/
