Battery Icon in Task tray

I need help w/ the battery icon in my task tray. The icon's always full even though when I mouse over it displays the right percerntage of the battery remaining on my e1505. I would like it if the indicator was working again so I could get a sense of my battery remaining with a quick glance instead of moving my mouse over. I thought perhaps it could be some WinXP service since I have disabled some services that I thought based on elder's guide to be nonessential. Thanks for your help in advance all.

I think the battery icon only shows full, halfway, and barely any left.

67-100% = Full Battery
34-66% = Looks like a Battery with Half life
11-33% = Battery with a smudge of life
1-10% = Battery has a caution sign indication low life.

That is one big thing i hate about the windows power manager. I installed Notebook Hardware Control and it comes with a little battery you can put in the taskbar. Real nice if you want to see what battery life you REALLY have left.

Also when its running on battery power it can show the % left or the time left.
