Yeah its working fine..........We'll see how long that last but so far so good with the 1.15bios. Its kind of strang how that got rid of so much problems even tho the update says NOTHING about fixing the random shut down problem.

The only problem I have with it now is the battery life Gets about two hours with the screen set too high, Firefox, music and or video playing and etc etc.

Not too bad if you ask me.

What I was told was that their marketing research showed a significant number of potential customers would buy based on price rather than color options, and offering colors was expensive. People were less likely to buy if the price was high enough to offer coor options. I think it's interesting that this time they charge a little extra for the colors other than silver to offset the cost of the option. I think Arima paints the cases silver at the factory, so it must cost AW less to produce the silver. Looks like the pricing is their way of giving the option not to pay for custom colors.

The colors just showed up for the m9700's, so other models may offer that in the near future as well.

I would love too have Space black/Blue.

hahaha AW's pricing is on the cheap side compared too the likes of Voodoo and Hypersonic. And shoot they charge like 250for different colors. I'm willing too pony up the 65-7x odd dollars that Alien wants for the three different colors compared too its compition.

On a single card with powernow enabled, you can go close to 2.5 hours depending on what you're doing.

A couple nights ago I was surfing the web through a neighbors wireless router and after an hour and a half it still showed 40% battery left, but you can't really count on the battery meter... Wasn't doing anything demanding but I did have SLI enabled.

Smooth creations will do it for you I'm sure. I'm still mulling over whether I want to paint mine or not. The stock paint is really nice.

I would have jumped at black in a heartbeat though if they were offering it.

Black is the shit on any AW laptop...

tate - I played BF2 for several hours last night on 64 person servers. 1600 x 1200, all settings on high, including AA, and AF with the advanced settings in the vid card set to high quality, and it was great. Not sure if there's a benchmark in there, but it handled everything beautifully.

No. Once you recive your system you'll just have too configure it the way you want too by reinstalling Windows.

I've talked to Smooth about painting my case a while back ago. I was thinking my m5500 (766) would look pretty sweet black. The palm rest paint wore pretty quick on it. It would also match the desktop that is on order...I guess I should pay for it first though.
