Asus S96J/Z96J vs Compal HEL80 HELP!

I had been thinking I was going to build an S96J system the price for the Z96J is just to much IMHO, I can get the BB S96J with DL DVD burner for $648 the HEL80 for $677 and the Z96J clocks in at a whoping $788.

Now It looks to me like the Compal is the better chassi, a biometric fingerprint scaner, extensive use of aluminium in the chassi, and a 9 cell battery with long battery life.

can anyone provide me with some comparison reviews, or any HEL80/S96J owners let me know about their experiances, is the 7600 in the HEL80 realy that badly underclocked?

Also it looks like the HEL80 has a nice avalible 1680x1050 screen as an option and that a new version has a 7600 GT as the video card, Can anyone point me to good places to pick up the barebones for either laptop or a prebuilt system at a good price, preferably with the option to go T7200 Core 2 Duo?

Even underclocked, the HEL80's GF Go 7600 is still very close to the X1600 in pretty much everything.

Where did you hear about a 7600GT in the HEL80? I haven't seen anything about that yet.

I would definitely buy the HEL80 (I just did, actually). Apart from the better chassis overall, fingerprint reader + bluetooth + TPM1.2 + high-res LCD is pretty good. The Geforce will also make it better for Linux, and the X1600 in the S96J seems to have been causing issues with the screen too.

PowerNotebooks seem to be a good shop for getting the HEL80. They've rebadged it as the "Crown P 15:2" and "PowerPro L 8:15". You can get it with a T7200 from ~$1210, but they don't expect to have the CPUs available until early October.

I bought from www.ibuypower.com I figure they are advertising in gaming mags, and they are direct selling though www.newegg.com so they must be good.

With Discount code ibuypower (good though midnight) I got.

15.4" 1280x1024
1.86 ghz T5600 Core 2 Duo CPU.
(NEW) Geforce 7600GT Go 256 meg graphics.
2 gigs of ram
120 gig HD
Windows XP pro

and all the other standard fixing including free case.

Nervous as heck though to be honest. It's slated as should ship 9/20 and then free ground shiping so I hope to have it by 9/27.
