E-1505 Battery Life With 6-Cell?

What are your battery times like? At full capacity and on low brightness, mine only lasts about an hour and 45 minutes while running a DVD. That's with wireless turned off and Notebook Hardware Control running on Max Battery... Is this normal? (P.S I have the 6 cell)

Just browsing the web and reduced brightness I get about 3 1/2 to 4 hours on mine....Going to get Dell to send me the 9cell since my old laptop came with one and this is a replacement... they have to match my other specs so there should be no problems.....

SacKings, from my experience I would say this is normal. I am suprised at the poor battery life of this laptop (the only time I get 3+ hrs is with the lid closed playing mps in the lounge so thats okay and WiFi on too) While watching a DVD it shutdown with 10 minutes to go

So the big screen sucks alot of juice. Sure, turn the brightness down as much as possible but let's face it - when watching a DVD with friends you want to enjoy it, not squint at it

I have a Sony Viao with 13.3" screen and can get 3 hrs + with that... so not just dell having same issues (oh, and I have RMClock with voltages down too)

I get 2 plus hours with a DVD and about 4 with just browsing on my E1505 with a 6 cell bat. Need to order a 9-cell.

6 cell + x1400 = poor battery life =(

how poor is poor? i'm deciding between the x1400, x1300 and integrated graphics card and would love to know how much of a difference in battery it would make. are we talking hours?
My system has the X1300 and as stated with just web browsing I get around 4 hours, probably will get no more than 2 1/2 to 3 hrs playing DVDS, but after talking to Dell Tech support they have agreed to send me a 9 Cell Battery to replace my 6 Cell, so I will give you my new battery life times as soon as it arrives, also Dell has agreed to replace my X1300 with the X1400 Though I doubt it will be much of a difference as far as battery drain over my current X1300......

Same here, even when using RM clock on the lowest voltage setting. Then again, I haven't really tested/timed it, I just look at what the program says timeleft wise.

What problems were you having? I just got my E1505 with the x1300 and 6 cell....I'd sure like to know what you said to get them to send a 9 cell and the x1400!

My E1505 was a replacement under warranty, and Dell was slow in processing the order,so as a concession they upgraded my video card, also my 8600 had a 9 cell battery so dell as per the warranty had to match it or do better, so they shipped the replacement out after I called and complained....as far as performance I gained about 500 points in 3DMark05 jumped from 1375 on my X1300 to 1877on the X1400, and Half Life 2 on high settings as well as Quake4 on Medium settings run much smoother.......
