...just solder on the graphics card...

Hi,

I have the 1505 with the bog standard graphics card (the 945G i think) i have another computer for gamming but im thinking about getting a better graphics card for the 1505. I saw a Dell outlet in a shopping mall yesterday so i asked the guy how difficult is it to get a new card and put it in? He told me that you just buy any card and solder it in and it will work...is this correct? To me i thought it would be a lot more difficult than this. When i asked him about heat issues and such he just told me again "...no you can just buy any card and solder it in".

Now im a total noob when it comes to the 'guts' of a computer but to me this sounds wrong and costly if i try it. Is it really this easy or are there issues with heat, size, compatibility etc...?

Thanks in advance..

Ok, the guy that told you you can just buy any card and solder it in needs to be punched in the face for being such an idiot. You can't buy any video card and solder it into your Laptop.

Unfortunately since you got the E1505 with integrated graphics you'll have to get a new motherboard with the socket for the discrete graphics card.

Anyway, thanks for your response Mr Evil.

Sell it and buy one with a dedicated graphics card. It'll be cheaper and less hassle.

Bingo... That guy straight up lied to you. He may have known. or he may have just been an idiot. Sell it on Ebay or however you want to do it, and buy one with the X1400, card in it... If you haven't bought it yet, then just get the E-1505 with the X1400 in it. It's the best card available for the E-1505
