How do I connect my 'Aspire 5672' to my TV? My TV has SVIDEO plug and audio plugs. My laptop has SVIDEO. I cant see any audio plugs on the laptop.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks

You need a cable called 3.5mm to RCA. If you go to any local electronics store they will know what you mean, basically one side has a headphone phone and the other has the audio connectors.

Your laptop has audio out... same type plug you can plug in external speakers or headphones. To hook it up to a TV/Stereo, you need an adapter

OK, here's how it works. Audio and Video come separate. For video, assuming u want to use the S-video out [u also have a DVi and VGA video outs] you just buy a 5 bucks [or so] cable that's calle :gasps: S-Video cable ^_^ it has the same plug at both ends. One for ur laptop, the other to the TV.

Audio is like Chakz said, just plug that cable, it's called a Y adapter, from 3.5mm to RCA, and thos 2 RCAs go to the TV. [the 3.5mm obviously goes in the headphones plug]

That's it!

Oh well, no, also u'll find some trouble with the video card cuz as I can see, u have no experience doing this things. You need to open display properties and in Settings, click the 2nd monitor [ur TV] and check the option Extend my desktop to this monitor, something like that. Now u have dual screens, which means the TV is an extension of the normal desktop you have. It will go gray. move your mouse to the right... and it will apear in the TV. Or open the ATI program and there u just right click the 2nd monitor and clik on Clone monitor, si it's not dual screens, but a clone of the original screen. VoilĂ !

I find if you're using the ATI Catalyst Control Center, you need to check a few settings:

- Under "Display Options", check under "If my TV is not detected, Force TV Detection"
- In "Display Manager", click the 2nd screen image. Or try to detect displays
- Now try switching displays by holding down Fn and pressing F5.
- It should display three icons, one for screen only / one for dual mode / one for TV only
- You may need to apply the settings through the Control Center several times
- If necessary, set your screen resolution to a non-widescreen (1024x768) if you are not using a widescreen TV.
