Playing 1080P without stutters

I'm having a little difficulty getting High definition video to play smoothly on my
XPS 2. It plays it ok, but especially the more demanding scenes can cause very noticable skipping, or even freezes for 1-2 seconds.
Is there a way to get it nice and smooth?

shouldn't be a problem, it's smooth with my 7900GS.
Not sure if 2 Gb's of RAM would make a difference or not, but I'm sure it doesn't hurt
defrag'd the HD lately??
