Error while trying to install new wireless notebook adapter

Hi all,

I hope I can find some guidance on this forum. I have an Aspire 5000. The built-in wireless adapter works great, but I recently upgraded my wireless network to wireless-N. So my built-in (wireless-G) adapter can't take full advantage of the network's improved speed.

I purchased a notebook adapter the same brand as the wireless-N router, and it gave me an error while doing the driver install:

"The system cannot find the specified file."

It doesn't say what file it cannot find. And I've tried two different notebook adapters, with the same results. Can anyone help me get my notebook adapter installed???

Any input or assistance would be most appreciated.
Thanks!
R.

Yes it does, but the included drivers give me that error. Downloading the up-to-date drivers from the vendor sites give me the same result. So I'm thinking that something is else in interfering with the install. Both adapters I've tried were from two DIFFERENT vendors (Linksys and D-Link). So its not specific to the brand. It seems to be my laptop...
