Me too, let us know if you find anything. I am familier with the gray display of the camera, all I did is run the batch file and it solved the problem, I don't know know why it didn't work for you...

Have any of you S96j/Z96j owners checked your camera since the BIOS update? Post if you get the gray screen, bitte.

...and actually, if Ken or anybody knows specifically what running the batch file is supposed to fix, that might help me narrow things down. I've tried reinstalling a number of times, even down to manually deleting the registry entries and .dll files (although the BisonCam.dll cannot be deleted because it appears to be in use even if you disable/uninstall the camera from the hardware list) to no avail.

Hi guys,

How do you flash the bios on a laptop without a floppy drive? Could someone outline the exact steps please? Thanks in advance.

Edit: I've tried flashing it with FLASHROM through a bootable CD, but no luck. Whenever I type in the command:

e:\ flashrom -p 0 w3jas_20.rom

I get the error message:

Error. Adaptor 0 not found.

Can someone please help me? This is getting really frustrating!

Thank you Ken !
I have also a F3Ja, which is "grainy". I sent to ASUS a request, but I afraid to be less taken into account than yourself, since I'm only a "final consumer"...

So, thank you for your help !

Thank you very much, LatinoHeat.. I forgot about the Asus utilities. It worked beautifully and the graininess is gone.

Have you got some schedule / timetable for availability of the fix for F3Ja ?
And, how long was it for other models for which you get new bios, between request and delivery ?

I request the BIOS fix for V1J and F3JA, but I was told by Asus North America that we probably won't receive the BIOS from them since it's not a North America model, but I'll let you guys know the status of it.
