Intel's quad core procs have been on their roadmap for Q4 (I think) of this year for quite a long time. Someone showed me their roadmap a few months ago and showed me the quad core.
i dont have time to read the whole article right now but i hope there is a laptop version and i hope it is a drop in replacement for the Core Duo or Core 2 Duo.
The Core 2 Quadro is basically two Core Duo's slapped into one processor, without anything really new, so the power requirements and heat would probably make putting this in a laptop a bad idea. I wouldn't expect a quad core laptop proc at least until they get a single shared L2 cache working, instead of the current setup of an L2 cache for each pair of cores.

Sounds like the Pentium D, except with 2 dual cores, There must be another plan for a quadro later, because as we say it go from P-4 to P-D (slapping of processors) to Core 2....maybe we'll see something like conroe come out sometime next year altho, 4 cores coming from conroe anyway is great
