wireless problem/netowrk problem

Thread Starter
hey guys, i was wondering if anyone can help me out.

it's a simple problem, yet i can't get it fixed.

problem:

wireless network card works, LAN network card works. but always says "aquiring netowrk address" and i can't connect to any hotspots, nor my own internet services in my house.

i've gone through everything with network configurations, reinstalled drivers, updated drivers, called comcast high-speed, and went through some IP reset programs. nothing seems to work.

any other ideas? also downloaded something called "xptcprep" which is supposed to help fix my network problems by reseting ip addresses and configuring XP or something, not too saavy on computers.

any imput would be great

I had a similar problem following the installation of VPN client software. I found that by removing the QoS Packet Scheduler I was able to acquire an address. This worked fine for a while but then the problem returned and was fixed by reinstalling the QoS Packet Scheduler. I've removed it and added it back several times, each time this does resolve the problem for a while (1 to 3 weeks).

You might want to give it a try.

If anyone can explain why this works or offer a permanent solution it would be appreciated.
