I am trying to get this model Sony work with an external display and detect automatically. When I dock it, it will not detect the screen until I either log into the machine or use the function keys. Once I log into the machine, it will detect the external screen, adjust the resolution for that external screen and work fine. I can turn off the laptop and undock it and when I redock it will work just fine detecting the external screen at boot up (this only works if I did not work undocked).
Now, if while it was undocked, I worked without the docking station, when I return it to the docking station and turn it back on with the docking station, again the screen goes undetected until I login. Any reason why? I know I can create multiple profiles with XP, not sure if it will work with this but how can I make it work to detected the screen always at bootup without having to log into the laptop. I am able to do this with the Dell, HP, IBM and other laptops in the company. Hope I did not confuse with this explanation. Please let me know, any help appreciated.
