So is 1550 for a 2 month old laptop that cost 2500 originally and pulls a 8400 in 3dmark05 to much or something?

the fact that you don't have the Core 2 Duo, the WUXGA Resolution screen, only a 1.86 Ghz Processor, a faster HD, and only a 60 Watt Battery is what is scaring people. manly me. I'm interested but only for a lower price.

I kinda see that, allthough MS office I'm giving with it is like $400 by itself, so really the laptop is only like $1150 I don't know how much lower I can go on it.

As far as what it doesnt have.
Core2Duo doesnt really help gaming performance, only speeds up video encoding, now if it was a core2Duo with the Santa Rosa chipset coming out in 6-7 months vs mine Id agree.
WUXGA is nice, but most games dont support the weird res of it and it makes the games look like garbage because your forced to a non native res and it hurts FPS a decent amount if it supports that res.
1.86 ya I kinda see that, allthough I doubt you would see any real difference between a 1.86 and 2.0+ if you didn't run PI or sat the 2 side by side and ran some CPU intensive test and it would be a few seconds slower.
With 2 gigs of ram I dont use a page file so the CPU doesn't wait for info from the HD so it doesn't do anything to performance besides making you wait a second/two more when loading a level.
As far as the battery....I don't know what to say, its a 17" laptop that weighs like 9 lbs with the power brick...don't really do much with it not on AC power.

Just offering counterpoints

Thanks,
Josh
