I have been patiently waiting for the prices on th 7800 gtx to go down. I figured with the faster and stronger cards out the price on these would go down but instead they dissapeard. Anyone know where to find one? Only thing on ebay is single pipe version. There was a guy selling them here but has removed them from his thread. Thanks

Strange, probably is a problem for the Dell Version. The 7800GTX is actually on some good notebook, so i don't think that is out of stock for nvidia. Probably is out of stock for Dell...
Try to search in the spare part market, or try to find refurbished or user parts. A friend of mine sell only in Italy an used 7800GTX for Dell.

I was waiting for the price to fall also, but Bal`thzar warned me that they were running out of them. I went ahead and purchased from him. Looks like I made the right decision.

Dell discontinued their 7800GTX. Once a GPU is no longer in current production, it is very hard for any OE supplier to keep up with Dell's volume and demand. You best bet is to just call Dell Spare Parts yourself and order a 7800GTX. They should still be around 300$ shipped.

It just strikes me as odd that i can find plenty of 6800 ultras on ebay but no 7800 gtx.

Why would it strike you odd? The 7800GTX is the final upgrade path for the gen2 and M170 so there is no reason for people to swap it out.

I'm getting an M1710 (in boxing now; can't wait) and giving my 9300 to my mom. She doesn't need such a hoss of a card so I'm putting the 6800go back in it and flashing back to the 9300 BIOS so she won't have to use the huge brick and she'll get about 1.5 hours more battery life.

If you keep an eye on the for sale section I'd rather sell the 7800GTX on the boards than offering it up to the eBay gods (as long as I can get a decent price, given the supply vs demand they maigh go for a bit at auction). Later, good luck with the search.

You waited patiently too long the problem is when a person can no longer make a few bucks on them they won't carry them. I guess you were under the impression that people were paying very little for them. they cost me $300 each give or take a few bucks. I dropped the price to 330 till I sold out then thats all she wrote.

Also Dell has since marked them for warranty replacement ONLY that means that none come out of the warehouse for anything but warranty replacement.

Add to that, that Nvidia doesn't make the chip anymore means its over

All of this makes me VERY happy that I snagged one on Ebay a few weeks ago for $285... I WAS waiting for a good deal, and that one seemed to be about as good as I would find at that point, as the prices were rising.

I don't think that the $250 price on Ebay I saw a couple months ago for one will happen again anytime in the near future, given the increased demand for them these days.

Just keep looking on Ebay every day, you may get lucky . It took me patience to get mine.
