I just added a downloadable 22mg avi video of the webcam on the 3450, so you can see the image quality video wise of it. It is a rapidshare link, for those not familiar with rapidshare, click link, go to bottom of page on right click FREE, then wait 70 seconds, enter the code they show in box and then hit download button, save it to your desktop and view with mediaplayer (it's a standard avi).

Hope the pics and video clips help others interested in the sentia, I am very happy with it and have been constantly messing with it for over 6 hours now its still not hot and seems to be running smoothly.

My wifi on this is awesome btw, I tape measured from router to back deck chair 81 feet and I still get (thru walls even) from inside to outside full signal and it says excellent.

Tomorrow in daytime I will go outside the house and walk away slowly till I lose signal, mark that point and measure it to the router (its right by the window) so I can give you within 6 inches the max range on this thing (at least on mine here) but 81 feet still reading excellent is great to me!

I really like your review. Thank you for making it easier for future buyers (I will call AW and ask them when the sound problem will be fixed. That's a big concern with me considering that sound and sight is what these things are built for!)

After I changed the equalizer settings I was much happier with the sound. The default settings are zero on all, or it was on mine. So the sound was flat and low quality. Also, change your "Enviorment" setting to match where you are and that helps, too. You can do all this through the Realtek Audio Manager.

That's why I gave the speakers and sound 5/5.

Nice review bud

Ya - Takes some screwing around, but in the end it's worth it. Worrying about sound is definitely not a reason to pass up the m3450, in my opinion anyway.

Glad it helped

Most of the time people use their own stero system with laptops during use, or headsets. Which, as stated, is high def 7.1. Great sound. The speakers work fine, just takes some tinkering with to get them to push out the sound the way you want them to.

Overall the sound is great. Just takes some tinkering.

It's not luck, I love this wireless card. I mentioned in my review mine was picking up hot spots accross the street. Not only does it have range, but the signal stays so strong my download speeds have definitely sped up. Before I always had to download whatever I needed, put it on my portable HDD and transfer the file. Now the wireless takes care of it all Maybe awesome wireless is just one of the few perks we get for living in Michigan, haha.

The Wifi card is awsome. Im loving it. I went out the day after I got this and bought a new 802.11g Linksys router for it. The single strength is "Excellent" everywhere in my house and even outside.

Not only that, I pick up my neighbors router, as well as a friends down the street some. The range is outstanding as well as the strength. In my house running on my network, I have the router forced into 802.11g mode for the best performance. I get 54Mbps in my house constantly.

Re: warm right palm rest area

FTLOSM,

I have the same hard drive as yours. This side gets warm for me too since I do quite a bit of compiling and the disk activity is pretty much constant for me. The fan has kicked in for me ever since I installed Windows Vista RC1. After whatever activity stops, the fan usually stops. The fan has probably turned on more for me because of the green state of Windows Vista RC1 and it's probably not as polished as the version of Windows XP that you're using. Nevertheless, the machine will actually turn off if it gets too hot and this is as designed per Intel. This has happened to me with my other laptop that has a Pentium M processor within it whenever I have covered the vents that are on the underside of that particular notebook when I've held the laptop on my lap. I no longer put the m3450 or the other laptop on my lap without some wooden board in between in order to not cover the vents. I wouldn't worry about it and all you have to do is keep using it and you'll get used to the machine's particular idiosyncrasies.

I hope this helps. Good luck.
