I've got an emachine w340ua notebook. What I'm trying to do is download video from my DV camera to make dvds. I'm not very tech savy so bear with me....there is a slot on the left side of the notebook and it will not take a regular 1394 firewire cardbus adapter. I adapter is an Adaptec AFW-1430A. Is there a firewire card that will work or is this notebook just not set up to do this? And if not, then what exactly is that slot used for (for future ref.) Any help will be greatly appreciated.
