Move over iPod... And it has 802.11b and a FM Tuner - UPDATE! - Page 2

Sandisk's Sansa players come with FM (I'd like one with AM too for better traffic reports). Don't care about wifi music transfer. So much of wifi seems up in the air right now (N, pre-N, etc.) that it will probably be all obsolete in a year. What I would really like is universal plugs/adapters instead of having to have a separate cord/plug for everything.

Oh wait! That's technology!

I wish there was a video mp3 player that also had a TV tuner in addition to FM radio.

But I guess that's a few years away.

Hopefully Microsoft has learned from past indiscretions and will make this user-friendly. I never understood why everyone liked the ipod, I hated that thing. Anyway, if M$ is stupid and makes it hard to use, it'll bomb. If it's easy to use, it'll do well. I'm looking at getting a Cowon A2, but this thing looks pretty good too.

p990 looks like an awesome little gadget, I'd love one... but $650 on ebay? Egad man. Could get a jasjar pro or whatever they're called for that.

please do not mix smartphones with dedicated mp3 players.

Sorry, the zune screen is the same 4:3 aspect as the 5g ipods, except bigger and tipped on its side.

will it last longer then my 360 or my Ipod?

seriously.. Ipod + microsoft = ticking timebomb I really do wish these guys at least test this thing and create a decent warenty. Ive had my ipods battery die and hardrive give just after my warrenty ended.. and then my 360 died just after my warrenty ended...

I dunno. In addition to this copy protected file sharing - which will only allow you to play a song tree times on the new host, locked interface to Win MP and iTunes, its still only 30 GB.

Thats like, roll over beethoven, here comes von Bingen (Medieval composer) on cassette.

i dont have an ipod yet but i'm going to get it soon for my sister's present

today i just saw a toshiba mp3 player with 30 gigs of storage, and its so freakin ghey, you have to convert ur mp3s to a toshiba specific format and then send it to the player, AND u cant really get back the files to ur computers, defeats the whole purpose of a multimedia player.

The Zune is gonna be a nightmare until someone gets some custom firmware running on it, like linux or rockbox.

I've been using rock box since they first released it for the h120 and it is absolute perfection. I have it on my h120, iAudio x5 and ipod video and ipod nano. The ipod video trounces everything if you don't need fm and line in.

The Zune could be interesting, but drm wrapped wifi is a joke. What ms should have do is give you the ability to download wikipedia info, album art and lyrics to the zune through the wifi connect.

The zune is so anti consumer. I really hope ms falls on their face with this one.

I found a 20 gig Ipod that's of the first Color Series, not sure what gen but i'll take an eduated guess and say 5th. ANyways, I'm glad that I found it because I have a Mp3 player that holds all of my songs and I could care less if I break it or lost it, and I've tried to break it a few times it's pretty rugged I mean it'lll take drops, maybe not throws, but drops are ok.

So darkloki, lemme get this right... You basically steal someone's ipod and decide to brag about it in this thread???

I like my Rio Carbon... Mine's black in color though, just Google Rio Carbon and hit Images.

Hey bigtrouble,
Just wanted to get some first hand information about rockbox
i've been to the website, but i just wanted to know if it has any problems, stabilitywise, with the ipod video...assuming you have the ipod video.

The wireless is what really intrigues me. Once someone gets a Linux OS or something running on there, it'd be AWESOME as a travel device with outlook or something. Run it by a hotspot while on vacation and get all your emails downloaded straight to your Zuna, etc.
