Inspiron 9300 Screen Problem

I bought my Inspiron on 4/2005. It worked fine until a few days ago. I regularly close the laptop while still on when i'm away, and when I opened it up again, a weird bar just happened to be there. I've made no hardware changes or software changes recently so it's very odd. I've tried to update drivers and unplug/replug the monitor connection but it's still there. Any suggestions?

I've attached some pictures

Your screen is farked. Seems to be happening to a lot of 9300 users. Coincidence?

Yep......i am a i9300 owner and i have had mine a lttle over my year mark and the screen is crapping out on me....ihave a bright red/green and a blue line all close to each other on the right hand side of my screen........and of course my year mark hit and the warranty dropped......so to get a new 1 i have to pay over 3 hundred just for the new lcd alone........not counting tax or shipping and possibly labor if i dont do the work myself.........

IM NEVER BUYING A DELL AGAIN.........OR BUY A PC WITH OUT A "EXTENDED" WARRANTY.

damn...so theres nothing i can do? I dont really want to drop 300 for a new screen...i'd rather use that money to buy a better monitor and just use the laptop as a desktop.

Or is there any place i could buy a replacement lcd at a cheaper cost and just replace the screen myself?

www.parts-people.com deals with of all things parts for dell pc's and laptops........but good luck find the lcd in stock......they sell them though in various levels of use though........new/slightly used/ and so on.......but i have yet to see 1 in stock to buy for mine yet.....
