How often does AW drop prices online?

I read that the Sentia dropped to $749 two weeks ago. Now it is $200 more. How often does AW lower the prices? I rather wait for the next opportunity than purchase it soon.

Also, can you guys tell me more about the speaker/sound issue on the Sentia?
What's your experience with that. I hear that the volume is really weak. I plan on using headphones and low sound would really annoy me.

The prices were low for school savings and such. There was an instant 100 dollar rebate for the month of August. Rebates come and go for diffrent times and holidays.

The sound isnt a major issue. You just need to take the time to configure your applications settings and such. The headphone jack is great though. No issues with sound from them.

Currently, I have my 2 180WATT comp speakers hooked up to it to see how well it can do, and its great. Clean, loud, and crisp. No issues at all with it.

Most reviews, including mine, about the sound were out of the box settings. Which need to be adjusted to get the sound from the speakers on the system louder.

But, as I said, with some adjustments the sound is great.

What I did was jumped on alienware site every few hours I noticed they tweek away at it often, many times I see minor changes, anyways I am at the pc most of the day so I figure it takes 5 seconds to pull it up and look, it was me who saw and ordered it for $749 but that went back to $849 (now $949) within like 45-60 mins, I wonder if tweeking they made a mistake and caught it? Did anyone else here order at $749 like I did that morning of the 29th?

I still check in on it but havent seen it lower than $849 since that one morning, doesn't mean there wont be a turkeyday sale coming tho...

Don't pass on the Sentia due to the sound "issues" I too in my review gave it a blah rating and went back after adjusting windows, realtek, winamp, mediaplayer, and cyberlink dvd settings, (in my review i talk more about that) see FTLOSM 3450 review in main sentia listing for many pics and my impressions.

If I had it to do all over again, I would pay the extra even as a base price cuz now that I have it IN HAND its awesome and worth the wait (i still hate fedex tho).

I got the 2.0 c2d and 100 gig 7200 rpm hd + dvd burner btw. I figured this gives me the best mid pricerange bang for the buck, I am loving it tho, about to go walk outside now to see when I lose signal and measure total distance for my review page update, last night i measured 81 feet and STILL had SOLID FULL "excellent" wireless G signal, that to me is amazing and easily worth a 5/5 score alone for wireless!
