Sentia M3450 RAM Question and own opinion

Hi all,

This is my first post, i'm glad to join this forum

I ordered a sentia m3450 laptop, but in my opinion, i think AW get very high charge for memory, so decided to buy the memory elsewhere.

I still didn't received my laptop, because i live in belgium, and AW products take much more time to be available in europe.

Can an owner use the cpu-z tool and grab me a screenshot of the memory module with real spefs, because i would order RAM module this we over the web but i don't know yet the real spefs.

Thx in advance.

I'm really excited to receive this laptop, i read lots of posts here and find this is the best choices for a laptop.

I was looking for a real laptop, not a volcano workstation replacement that all manufacturers are currently solding and burn hands after 5 mins running and fans running at high speed after 10 mins running

The sentia m3450 doesn't seem to get warm and fan seems to be slow, according to all posts i read here, i hope it's really true, because i've never actually saw a laptop that doesn't warm or get noises.

I'll post my poit of view when i'll receive it, probably at the end of this month

The Sentia doesn't warm up much or get too hot. The only time I've had the fan kick on where it was even close to aubible was when I had been gaming for about 3 hours straight and even then it was on for a few minutes and then slowed back down. I love my Sentia. Took a screenshot of the CPU-z memory reading for you.

Great, thank you very much, i just ordered 2GB

Really great if it can only get warm when playing, because i'm not a gamer, except some mame games sometimes, but i guess double dragon or 1942 won't get a hard life to the lappy

Another question : Can u disable the card reader located at the front of the laptop ?

I don't want to see those massed drived letter in windows explorer

Re: CPUID-Z picture and disabling the card reader

Here's another picture of CPUID-Z with my memory configuration in the thumbnail below. Since I'm using two 1GB memory sticks, I am also running in dual channel mode. You should be able to disable the card reader by disabling the device from within the "Device Manager".

I hope this helps. Good luck.

Thx a lot for the pics, you have OCZ memory module, very good brand.

I ordered 2 of those : Infineon 1GB SO-Dimm DDR2 PC2-5300S 200PIN, 667MHz

I would disable the memory card reader directly from the bios, can you please check if you can do this ?

Just checked and doesnt look like you can. You can disable it via Windows in the device manager though.

Re: Device Manager

Wiccan is correct. You will need to disable it via Window's "Device Manager." Just in case you don't know, you would access the "Device Manager" by doing a right-button "Properties" menu selection on "My Computer," and when the window comes up, select the "Hardware" tab. You can then select the "Device Manager" button. I've attached and highlighted the particular entry for the card reader under Windows Vista RC1. You would then disable it by doing a right-button "Properties" menu selection on it and then select the "Disable" button that comes up in the window.

I hope this helps. Good luck.
