The RAM is, but uprading the HD will void the ASUS Ensemble warranty.
Although some resellers give the option of upgrading everything, they will take on the responsibility of repairing the Ensemble book.
We just don't beleive anyone out there can respond faster to an Ensemble [their own brand] repair than ASUS.

Didn't know that. Thanks for warning me.

hey c9tech, will a 2.33 ghz c2d be offered from your site?
Why does everyone keep saying its not available? Its been available for a while now... 4 or 5 resellers have them.

If you're talking about the A8Js with a 2.33GHz Core2Duo, then no. As I mentioned before we don't handle the ASUS Ensemble warranty after it's been voided.
However, if you're looking to purchase a C9 Mobile [built on ASUS] with the T7600, then yes.

Hi c9tech, does your website accept international credit cards? I am currently studying in the US and looking to purchase the A8JS. Also i noted on your site there is an option for an additional 8 cell battery, will this work with Asus A8JS ?

Thanks.

Actually it's a 6 cell, and yes it will work with the A8Js.

Hi,

I have been following this thread for a couple of days now because I am interested in buying A8JS. But when I checked in all the reseller sites mentioned in this thread, I found that it is presently not in stock or yet to come. Can anyone let me know if it is presently available with any of the resellers?

If you really want it then you might want to pick a reseller and place an order -supply is low and demand is high for the A8Js. It may be a while before you see it permanently in stock anywhere...

I just recently purchased my Asus A8Js with a place called XoticPC.com. They offer a lot of customizations that I couldn't find at other reseller's websites. For example, custom paints and wraps for this particular notebook. Plus they have a great sales staff . I was truly impressed with the whole experience.

You can check out their reseller ratings here: http://www.resellerratings.com/seller4996.html

So far this is by far one of the best laptops I have ever used. It's portable and powerful.

Some of My Spec's:
- Display: 14.1" WXGA "Glare Type" Super 1440x900
- Processor: -Intel Core 2 DUO 2.16GHz T7400
- Video Card: 512MB PCI-Express nVidia GeForce
- Ram: 2GB DDR2 667MHz
- Exterior Finish: Nightmare Custom Wrap
- Bay 1 Optical Drive: 8X DVD +/- R/RW /CDRW Dual Layer
- Primary Hard Drive: 100GB 7200RPM (Serial-ATA 150)

They may still have more instock. Good luck to you all trying to purchase one! The A8Js is worth every penny !!

Davcho640 (1 post) sounds like someone from XoticPC trying to advertise on the forums.

Where can the CPU, RAM or HDD be upgraded as a customization at XoticPC? I looked there and couldn't find any choices besides the stock T7200, 1gb RAM, and the 5400rpm 100gb HDD...

Actually, I am just a customer... I was only trying to help people find another alternative place to buy the A8Js. I haven't posted here before because I was only looking for a new notebook and didn't know what to say, except re-ask questions that could be found by searching the forums, which I've read is annoying to other readers. Well, thank you for proving my point... Posting here is not worth the effort to help others, you just get ridiculed for doing it.

Good luck to you all looking for the A8Js.

P.S. Ask XoticPC, I am in no way affiliated or employeed with them. I was just trying to share a really good experience I had with my purchase. However, I will keep it to myself from now on.

Jasn, You need to search for it and select the "Elite" option or something. It should allow you to customize the components. Here's the link: http://www.xoticpc.com/product_info....oducts_id=1662 I hope it helps...
