I realize that many people have had issues with the LCD bezel Cracking around the hinges. Currently we are working with Sager to try and come up with a solutions for replacement and or compensation. However, Im not quite sure if they will issue anything. Regardless, in the mean time this is what they had to say about the defect:
"If the lcd case crack and did sent back to us we will check and ajust the
hinge tension, if user change by himself or done by some other repair shop
which they maybe did not ajust the hinge tension which either is too tight
or too loose then after replace the case, it will be crack again very soon."
Basically what this means(slight language barrier from Sager) is that if you have seen any cracking or stress fractures, just loosen the tension of the hinges. It is a combination of the hinge tension being to tight and the user pushing down to close the Lid that is causing the cracks. So, if you want to ensure no cracks in the future, change the hinge tension.
