m1210 media direct button problem

i have had this laptop for a few months and only hit the button once but i dont remember what it did,anyway last night i decided to see what it does by pressing the media direct button and it does nothing,called dell support and they reinstalled it from the website but still did nothing,does anyone know what i can do to get this working correctly. thanks

Did you reformat your harddrive when you got your laptop? If so, the media center partition may be been scrubbed, so that would cause some issues

Yep, The day after i got my computer i did that... luckely i had a ghost image of the whole drive.....
btw, does the button light up when you hit it.. and your suposta hit it instead of hitting the power button when you boot up

what I did was was use the dell disk to reinstall quick set. That activated the media direct button and other control options.
