Problem when i update my BIOS

yesterday i download the latest bios version from acer web for my laptop, ACER TRAVELMATE C300, the bios version is 1.13 and i run the windows program and say: flashing bios dont shutdown your computer....and at the finish say all perfect. the program restart my computer and when restart the computer dont restart.

Only apear black screen, the dvd run, the led of bluetooth is on and no more.

what can i do? are some crisis disk in CD cause i dont have floppy. There some jumper to reset the bios?

i need help.

borrow an usb floppy drive and reflash the bios is probably the best option.
playing with bios reset jumper is pretty chancy, u must first find a techincal guide for this

but a read that when you have conect the USB floppy disk you push FN+ESC and then start auto the crisis disk, but now without USB floppy disk a push that keys and nothing appear, is normal?

where is the jumper that you say? in my motherboard only be a swich but any jumpers.

and other thing, where can i found a crisis disk to start with? maybe on monday i can have a USB floppy unit.

i guess so, if the FN+ESC mechanism is looking for the floppy device

sorry, i just responded to ur "There some jumper to reset the bios?" statement, - should be adding "do not know about the existance of any jumper but ".."playing with bios reset jumper is pretty chancy"

the crisis disk is a bootable diskette containing the flash untility and the previous working bios version. u can probably making it urself

Just curious..........what was the reason that you updated your bios for?

Hello,

try this it was worked for me!

The second one my anwser!

This link is get the boot disk.(on the right corner the small link)

Change the bios file with good bios(the old one) and boot the system with USB external FDD(argos £25, ebay £12 5days delivery) and wait for automatic restart and the miracle is going to be happen!!!
