Sometimes Dell just needs to shut up!!!!

Was at work today and a Dell supervisor calls to talk to me, after reviewing my replacement history on my laptop and seeing what I had to go through just to get it, he see's where Dell as a concession for my bad treatment upgraded and sent a technician to install a X1400 video card in my E1505......I'm thinking great he is going to go through the regular speech about what I thought of their support and how my treatment was in this case, Boy was I wrong, he then began to lecture me about how Dell was doing me a favor and that I should remember that this was a special one time offer and I should be grateful that they did this to begin with.... HuH?..... WTF!!!!!! Being over run at the time with customers I told him all was taken care of as far as I was concerned and quickly hung up. Now that its calmed down at work , I began to think about what he said and his tone and I am quite frankly Pissed!!!!Just when they start regaining my trust they do this...They need to send everyone back to class on customer relations, and fast!!!!!

what are you talking about? dell has perfect customer service and you probably did something wrong to deserve whatever criticism you got....

no, but seriously, dell's customer service is absolutely terrible. this is what i was bitching and moaning about. i loved the guy who kept insisting that he would have to pay for my coupon out of his own pocket since he "couldn't apply the discount" no matter what, and that he needed the money for his family. i'm dead serious. i wish i recorded the phone call.

Funny thing was this was the same guy who was suppose to handle my replacement video card issue in the first place, and after several Emails from me requesting a update I gave up after over a week of no response and called another tech support rep who immediately set up the installation and the next morning the technician showed up and replaced the card... And this guys calls to lecture me about the favor he never did to begin with.....As I stated I was extremely busy when he called so I could not really let him know how I really felt, but hey, Screw Him!!!!My video card was replaced(No thanks to him) and I'm happy...and in the end thats all that counts...

as i said before, for no reason should anyone accept substandard customer service. that's not to say one should not be polite, courteous and reasonable when buying things/receiving support as that is expectation of society... but there is absolutely no excuse for someone at Dell lecturing you or telling you that they went out of their way to do something and you owe them or that you don't deserve it but they will do it anyway or ANYTHING like that. its outrageous!! there is no place for that; do what the customer asks, or don't do it and refer the issue to a superior, but none of this soap opera bullshit... bunch of morons they are!!

Ouch.. I bought my 2x1gb sticks of DDR2-667 for just over $140.
So unless you mean you got a 2gb stick of ddr2-667 (which would be a steal at $200 right now) then you overpaid.

D.

If you check newegg now, they're selling RAM at "outrageous" prices too! Those budget $70 1gb PC-5300 667MHz SODIMM are now going for about $100 (cheapest) at newegg!

This good advice for anyone that needs to deal with orders.

If you order over the phone, keep it over the phone. Same with online, keep it online.

I just learned the hard way. I emailed and called for the same pricing issue.

I emailed Dell about the issue one night and then called them the next afternoon. When I called, they were finally able to resolve the issue.

A couple hours later, I recieved an email telling me that my order(s) was cancelled and replaced with the mistakes corrected.

Yea, I was pissed at the time but in the end, I saved $40 off the original order and made them change my shipping to Next Day for free.
