well, i just found this old laptop when i just moved, it is a windows 95, amd if i am not mistaken it is pentium 2. I am not sure the ram but it cant be to high, the problem i am having is that it does not have an ethernet card, but it has an adapter, that is put in the pcmcia, dlinks card that has a cable connected to ti and you attach the ethernet to it. the problem is that i cannot get it to recieve signal, the lights lit up green, and one blinks as if there was a link, but i cannot connect to the internet.
does anyone know what is wrong, please help me. I want to instal linux on it, but dont want to go to linux unless i can fix this problem since I am not that good with linux, and probably will have more trouble there. I just want to use the laptop for worl files and surfing the web a little. nothing much. pleas help
